Néol., p. plaisant. Le fait de boire. La bibition des pots (QUENEAU, Loin de Rueil, 1944, p. 131) :
• La vigne dont il provient est un rejeton, en ligne directe, de celle que planta Noé. « Lequel vin se prête également à un usage interne, dit bibition, et à un usage externe, l'immersion des pieds. »

ÉTYMOL. ET HIST. — 1845 (BESCH. : Bibition. Action de boire); en partic. 1938 avec nuance péj. (R. QUENEAU, Les Enfants du limon, p. 196 : Pandroche conservait de la médiocrité de ses origines l'habitude de ne devenir brillant qu'après bibition de quelques verres de vin).
Empr. au b. lat. bibitio « id. » (PS. AUG., Serm., 294, 8 dans TLL s.v., 1955, 7), bien attesté aussi en lat. médiév. (Mittellat. W.).
